SAN DIEGO: The body of a San Diego man was found inside a parked car in the Skyline area early yesterday, about four hours after residents reported hearing gunshots.
A neighbor found the body in a Nissan Sentra parked on La Sena Avenue, north of 69th Street, police homicide Sgt. Bryan Pendleton said.
The county Medical Examiner's Office identified the victim as Jauntai Jamall Arnold-Williams, 23.
A neighbor called police about 3:10 a.m. to report hearing gunshots on La Sena. The report was broadcast as an “all units” call, but no police units were assigned to investigate, Pendleton said.
About 7 a.m., another neighbor called police to report a body.
Latoya Kirkendall, who identified herself as Arnold-Williams' cousin, said he was soon to celebrate his 24th birthday and was expecting the birth of his first child.
Neighbors saw two vehicles – a charcoal-gray Dodge Neon and a sport utility vehicle similar to a GMC Yukon – leave at high speed, Pendleton said. Police believe the occupants followed the victim to La Sena Avenue. Two armed men were seen running from the scene, Pendleton said.

Argument may have led to man being shot dead
SAN DIEGO: One man was killed and another wounded in a shooting about 2 a.m. yesterday near a bar on Sweetwater Road in Lincoln Acres, authorities said.
Sheriff's Lt. Dennis Brugos said the shooting appeared to have occurred after an argument among four men. They apparently had been inside the N City Sport Lounge on Sweetwater, then moved outside, where one shot the two men, Brugos said. The shooter and a companion left in a red Mustang GT, Brugos said.
Dennis Eugene Trollinger, 31, died at the scene. The other man was taken to a hospital with wounds not considered to be life-threatening, Brugos said.
The shooter was described as black, in his 20s, clean-cut, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing 160 pounds. His companion was described as black, 5 feet 7 to 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing 180 pounds.
The county Medical Examiner's Office identified Trollinger as a resident of Chula Vista. However, Michael Trollinger, who went to the scene of the shooting, said his brother, a construction worker, had been living in Murrieta and was visiting in Chula Vista.

Marine riding motorcycle killed in accident in Pala
NORTH COUNTY: A 21-year-old Marine died yesterday in a motorcycle accident on state Route 76 in Pala.
The man, who was based at Miramar Marine Corps Air Station, was riding his motorcycle back from Palomar Mountain with friends when he lost control while trying to pass slower-moving vehicles.
He went off the road and struck a tree, the county Medical Examiner's Office said. The accident occurred about 1 p.m. east of Magee Road.
The victim's name has not been released pending notification of his family.
