SAN DIEGO – Shamu and the Padres Friar want to see you fly safe. So do Johnny Thunder and the Bamboo Bear.
The mascots for SeaWorld, the Padres, Lego Land and the San Diego Zoo are featured in a video premiered at Lindbergh Field Tuesday reminding passengers of the airport security requirements.
The four-minute video runs in a loop as passengers enter checkpoints at each terminal.
Security requirements remain the same: Passengers should bring identification, have only one carry-on and one personal item, such as a purse, and should remove all metal before going through the metal detectors.
All footwear has to be removed and liquids can only be in 3-ounce containers and should be packed in a clear, quart-sized bag for inspection.
The video was launched this week to help streamline the long lines expected during the Fourth of July weekend. It educates the public in a light and fun way and is directed at all age groups, said Murray Bauer, a terminal operations supervisor.
