More County Fair 2008 news
In the ribbons: Jeff Davidson

UNION-TRIBUNE

June 18, 2008

Judges' choice: Santee resident Jeff Davidson earned a first place in keeping with the fair's theme, “Summer of Sports,” with his photograph titled “Little League.”

Background: “It was a T-ball game. They all hit and they all run. I was watching the catcher, and a kid slid in and the catcher did a nice stretch to catch the ball. These kids are about 5 or 6.”

How he got started: Davidson, 43, is an engineer who began doing photography when his children became involved in sports. His love of sports and action photography has evolved into a business. He takes photos of children during games and posts them on his Web site for parents to buy.

Comment: “I started shooting my son here and there for fun. From there on, I have been shooting sports year-round. I started doing portraits about two years ago – newborns, maternity and model photography.”

Tip for learning more: “Practice, practice, practice.”
